Hays Mill Homestead: Farmhouse Cabinetry with Timeless Charm

Nestled in the serene countryside, the Hays Mill Homestead is a breathtaking blend of classic farmhouse style and understated luxury. In collaboration with River’s Edge Custom Builders, we brought this homeowner’s vision to life with bespoke farmhouse cabinetry that enhances both form and function. Every detail—every carefully selected finish—works in harmony to create a home that feels warm, inviting, and designed for a lifetime of memories.

A Kitchen Rooted in Tradition

The heart of this home is a stunning kitchen featuring custom farmhouse cabinets where timeless design meets practical beauty. The perimeter cabinetry, painted in Valspar’s Santa’s Beard—a soft, milky white—provides a fresh yet cozy backdrop. The kitchen island, a true statement piece, takes inspiration from antique apothecary tables, offering both ample storage and a rich, handcrafted appeal. Crafted from maple wood and finished in a custom stain we developed with Sherwin Williams, this island is as much a work of art as it is a workhorse.

Thoughtful Details at Every Turn

The butler’s pantry is a seamless extension of the kitchen, offering an intimate coffee bar framed by glass-panel doors. A butcher block countertop adds warmth and character, enhancing the space with its natural beauty. The homeowner’s personal touch—cabinet hardware sourced from Amazon—ties together the kitchen and pantry, ensuring a cohesive and personalized aesthetic.

A Laundry Room Designed to Impress

Far from an afterthought, the walk-through laundry room is a standout feature of the Hays Mill Homestead. Accessible from the master bedroom closet, this space is a dream of organization and efficiency. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, painted in a striking black, creates a bold contrast against the gold hardware and butcher block countertops. This is a laundry room that doesn’t just serve a purpose—it makes a statement.

The Beauty of Custom Craftsmanship

A home is only as strong as the details that shape it, and our farmhouse cabinets are designed to bring both beauty and function to every space -the Hays Mill Homestead is no exception. From the tongue-and-groove box ceiling to the wood beam-cased opening, every wood accent in this home was carefully curated to complement the Cairo oak floors. To achieve the perfect match, we partnered with Sherwin Williams to create a custom stain mix—an exclusive blend designed specifically for this project. The result? A seamless, natural elegance that runs throughout the home, tying each space together with warmth and authenticity.

A Farmhouse Dream Realized

At SCS Cabinets, we believe that cabinetry should do more than provide storage—it should enhance the soul of a home. The Hays Mill Homestead is a testament to that philosophy, where every drawer, door, and finish tells a story of craftsmanship and care. This home is a perfect balance of rustic charm and modern refinement, designed to welcome family and friends for generations to come.
